I live in 7 year old home with a untreated wooden fence. I've learned that the HOA recently relaxed the fence rules and with approval with allow clear sealant or stain. Is it too late obtain the benefits of doing so with m untreated fence? Thanks.

Good Question!  It is not too late to get some benefit from sealant.

If the fence is made of cedar it has turned gray (cedar does that after about a year if not treated). Staining could bring back some of the color, but not sure much. Sealant alone will not change the color at all.

The purpose of sealant is to make moisture bead up and roll off the wood rather than soaking in. Whether it's made of cedar or pressure treated lumber, sealing at this point will protect the fence and help it last longer.
